Clare O’Neil, minister of home affairs announced today that the Temporary Skilled
The Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will rise from $53,900 to $70,000 as of July 1, 2023.
This means employers looking to sponsor overseas workers will need to offer an annual salary of at least $70,000 plus superannuation to prospective candidates.
The Australian government has also declared that by the end of 2023, every holder of a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) (subclass 482) visa will have a path to permanent residency, giving employers and immigrants more security and assisting in raising the level of skill in the permanent skilled migration program.
